New Features
Caries Detection Model for PAs- Global Launch
We’ve deployed a major upgrade to our Caries AI model to improve detection accuracy and performance on PAs.
The new model enhances sensitivity for early-stage caries.
Improved specificity means fewer false positives, ensuring that flagged findings are clinically meaningful and actionable.
Why this matters: With greater precision and reliability, clinicians can confidently detect and treat early caries on PAs, improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary interventions.
Faster Navigation Between Images (Image Preloading Optimization)- Global
We’ve made behind-the-scenes improvements to reduce image load times and improve navigation in Second Opinion:
When opening the FMX view, nearby images are now preloaded in the background.
Why this matters: This reduces wait time when moving between images, making navigation feel faster and more seamless.
MM/Bone Ratio Toggle- Global
Clinical users can now choose how supported bone measurements are displayed—either as millimeters (mm) or percentages (%)—for periapical radiographs where bone ratio calculations are possible.
A new toggle is available only on periapical images with eligible bone measurements, allowing users to switch between mm and % views.
Bitewing images do not support bone ratio calculations and will always display bone levels in millimeters. The toggle will not appear or be active on bitewing images
For Periapical images, users can also set a default preference per office (mm or %) via the Customize Interface settings page, which applies to eligible radiographs.
If a radiograph doesn’t support bone ratios (due to missing anatomical landmarks like the root apex or image type), the toggle will be disabled and accompanied by a tooltip explaining why ratios are unavailable.
The same explanation is shown in Customize Interface to guide admins when setting defaults.
Measurements always calculate both mm and ratio values (where available), ensuring consistent editing behavior regardless of view mode.
Why this matters: This flexibility lets clinicians view bone measurements in the format that best supports their diagnostic approach.
Restoring Deleted Bone Measurements on BWX and PA Images- Global
Previously, bone measurements were permanently deleted when removed. Now, users can hide them instead.
The delete (“X”) icon on bone measurements has been replaced with an eye icon.
Clicking the eye icon will hide the measurement, turning it grey and dotted, and it will disappear after exiting Edit Measurements mode.
This applies to both BWX and PA images as well as both millimeters and bone ratios.
Why this matters: Clinicians can temporarily hide measurements without losing data, improving flexibility and reducing accidental deletions.
Bug Fixes
Annotations now consistently appear above overlays like Tooth Parts and Affected Tooth improving visibility.
Annotation checkboxes in comparison mode now stay in sync with keyboard shortcut toggles.
Pressing Space or Enter in comparison mode no longer exits the view—annotations toggle as expected and the app stays in split view.
